About Saffron Lane

surgery_saffronThe Saffron Lane surgery is the original site for the Park Veterinary Group and provides full surgical and medical care for your pets.

It is a busy first opinion practice and was refurbished in July 2013.

3 vet, 3 nurses and 4 receptionists work at Saffron Lane, with vets Jane Yeates, Charlotte Wright, Sarah Drage and nurse Lucy Costelloe who has been working at the Saffron Lane surgery for over 20 years!

The small animal side of the Park Vet Group operates from 4 surgeries. Four of these are stand-alone clinics of 3-8 vets each, and one is a dedicated branch surgery for consulting and routine operations.

The four main surgeries are self-sufficient for all routine first opinion work and have their own fixed veterinary teams, promoting continuity for clients, and also for the vets the opportunity to work in a small close-knit unit, but with the back-up and expertise that you only get from a multi-person practice.

puppy2Throughout the practice we have veterinary expertise in dermatology and cardiology, and RCVS Advanced Veterinary Practitioners in Ophthalmology and Surgery. We are a registered Nurse Training Practice and tier 3 MRCVS accredited.

There is a strong ethos within the Park Vet Group to encourage continual professional development (CPD) which is on-going training to ensure that we are up to date with the most modern information and techniques. This benefits our staff, our clients and most importantly, our patients.

Jane Yeates

Associate Veterinary Surgeon

Jane qualified from Bristol University in 1984 and has been working at the Park Vet Group..

since 1991, having previously worked at various practices in the UK and for the RSPCA in Melbourne, Australia. She is married with a son and a daughter, one a teenager, the other about to become one. The family all supports the Leicester Tigers and includes a very cuddly Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Jane likes to relax with a good book, once she has discharged her duties as chief cook, bottle washer and part time taxi service for her children. She became a veterinary associate in 2007, produces the small animal newsletter and information leaflets and works part time at the Saffron Lane surgery. She is an experienced small animal general practitioner, interested in both medicine and surgery. Jane also does out of hours farm work and has a particularly good success rate with bovine caesarians.

Charlotte Wright

Veterinary Surgeon

Charlotte (Charlie) Wright graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2008 and after a short time in..

mixed practice in Kent joined the Park Veterinary Group in June 2009 as a mixed practitioner. She spent her first two years at the Whetstone Surgery but has now joined the team at our Saffron Lane surgery. Her farm interest means that she is also able to offer practical advice on the more unusual pets we encounter including pet pigs and chickens.

Sarah Wallace

Veterinary Surgeon

Sarah is originally from Cardiff, and graduated from Nottingham vet school in 2013. She spent a year in South..

Wales as a small animal vet working in an orthopaedic and spinal practice before moving to Leicestershire to join the Park Vet Group in 2014. Her interests include small animal neurology and medicine. Her pet family includes her ex guide dog Paddy, who was retired due to a liver problem, and rescued cat Sprout, who was brought into the Saffron Lane surgery as a stray where she fell in love with him! Being Welsh, Sarah is an avid rugby fan, so outside of work you will usually find her cheering for Wales or Leicester Tigers!
