Park Vets, a leading Leicestershire veterinary group has appointed a new clinical director for its farming division.
Park Vets, which has practices in Whetstone, Glenfield, Saffron Lane and Scraptoft Lane, has handed the key post to experienced clinician Gualter Graca.
Gualter, who first joined Park Vets in 2013, has returned to the group with a clear vision of what he wants to achieve in his new position working with farmers across Leicestershire and further afield.
He said: “As farm clinical director, my key responsibilities are to drive and design the business strategy to ensure a strong future for the farm team at Park Vets and a great level of veterinary service to all of our clients.
“Spending time with farmers and helping them get the best from their businesses must be at the top of the list, as this is my true passion.
“The main aim is to develop a strong and fair farm practice, that delivers the best and most affordable service for our clients around Leicestershire.
“To do this, we will need to build a strong, stable team whom farmers trust, as we strive to become the farmers’ vet of choice in the area.”
Gualter, who graduated in Portugal in 2011, is delighted to be ‘back home’ at Park Vets after a spell working in the pharmaceutical sector.
He added: “I’m very pleased to be back at Park Vets. It is where I developed most of my clinical and non-clinical skills.
“I know this role will bring some new and different challenges, but I am sure we can deliver a business that is both sustainable and adds value to our clients.
“I’m certainly looking forward to working closely with our parent company, Linnaeus, with the view of developing farm practice work and supporting the future of the farming industry.
“Finally, I want to inspire the younger generation coming into farm vet work and creating a safe and supporting environment to allow them to grow and flourish.”
