At Park Vet Group, we have been an Approved Nurse Training Centre for many years. We bring on our junior trainee nurses from their first years, right through to qualification and achieving status as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

The role of a veterinary nurse is highly skilled, and includes monitoring anaesthetics, administering medications, carrying out ward rounds and patient assessments, assisting with radiography, running nurse clinics and more.

The veterinary nursing profession is now regulated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the same body that awards and regulates the veterinary surgeon profession.

You can read more about Registered Veterinary Nurses and the VN Register here.

Most of our veterinary nurses stay with us when they have completed their training, and so you’ll notice that they change their uniform upon graduation from a graduation blue to a dark green one!

If you’re interested in finding out more about becoming a veterinary nurse, you can read more on the British Veterinary Nursing Association website.
